BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Federal contractors, subcontractors, community-based organizations, and other community stakeholders are invited to attend the Veterans Contract Compliance Symposium on June 12, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Microsoft Teams.
Hosted by CareerSource Brevard and the Orlando District Office of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs U.S. Department of Labor, this ONLINE, FREE Business Learning Event focuses on how to meet and stay compliant with OFCCP.
Attendees will learn important facts on the contractual obligations of affirmative action and equal opportunity employment for veterans, including employment trends, hiring practices, diversity, and worker protections.
In addition, the symposium will cover the regulations associated with the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
“This symposium is part of an ongoing series of Business Learning Events focused on bringing value and education to area employers,” says Raul Santana, a Local Veterans Employment Representative for CareerSource Brevard.
“Understanding and meeting the requirements of the OFCCP can be difficult and we encourage anyone doing business with the government to join us to better understand the law, maintain compliance, and protect their employees.”
