BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf National Tournament will begin Monday morning at Duran Golf Club in Viera.

Eastern Florida State College will be one of the 15 teams competing for a national title next week with the final round scheduled for Thursday. The Titans were an at-large bid after finishing third in the Southeast District Championship.

“We are playing at our home course so it is going to be important to be prepared because the talent is there, it is all about being prepared, going out and having fun and have good composure,” EFSC womens golfer Brittany Odic said.

Seminole State College is back as the defending champion and have won the title four straight seasons. Joining Seminole State College in the national tournament as district champions are Rend Lake, Odessa College, Dodge City and Tyler Junior College.

Overall, 88 golfers will be teeing off at Duran Golf Club on Monday for the first of four rounds.

It will be the first time that Eastern Florida State College has hosted the women’s golf national tournament but hosted the men’s golf national tournament in 2019.

The first round of the tournament will tee off at 7:30 a.m. at Duran Golf Club.

“Obviously you can take calculated risks if it is a smart risk but I feel because it is so windy there is no reason to take unnecessary risks and we all know that,” women’s golfer Gracie Doke said.
