Melbourne Police Communications Supervisor Robert Evenson Named Telecommunicator of the Year

21-year veteran of the Melbourne PD Communications Center
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police Department Communications Supervisor Robert Evenson was recognized by the Brevard County Police Chiefs Association for being the MPD 2023 Telecommunicator of the Year.
Evenson is a 21-year veteran of the Melbourne Police Department’s Communications Center.
He is also a member of the Incident Dispatch Team and is a Communications Training Officer.
Evenson plays a critical role in the Communications Center and has been a shift supervisor for the past two years. He is a tremendous support, helping his employees during high-volume incidents.
In 2023, Evenson was instrumental in designing our new CAD system and is one of our subject matter experts training our team on the new system.
“Robert is a consummate professional and always compassionate with callers under stressful circumstances. He is driven by a sincere desire to help his coworkers as he serves the citizens of Melbourne with excellence. Congrats Robert,” said a Melbourne police spokesperson.
