BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police detectives are investigating two overnight robberies at separate 7-Eleven convenience stores that occurred less than 24 hours apart, with detectives working to determine whether the same suspect is responsible for both crimes.

The first robbery happened around 3:45 a.m. Thursday at the 7-Eleven located at 1268 Aurora Road. Police said the store clerk reported that a white male wearing a black mask entered the store, demanded money from the register, and fled after the clerk complied.

The suspect’s direction of travel after leaving the store remains unknown.

Later that night, at approximately 11:55 p.m., a white male wearing a black mask entered another 7-Eleven, this one at 220 W. New Haven Avenue, and once again demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk complied, and the suspect fled before officers arrived.

Investigators said the suspect descriptions in both cases are similar, but have not confirmed whether the same individual committed both robberies.

“These incidents are active investigations,” police said in a statement. “We are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity near either store to come forward.”
