Rockledge Police Officer Bobby Weigel Retires After 42 Years of Dedicated Service

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – The City of Rockledge and the Rockledge Police Department recognized Officer Robert “Bobby” Weigel who retired after 42 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Rockledge.
Throughout his lengthy career, Bobby has served as a Patrol Officer, Traffic Officer, Field Training Officer, Traffic Homicide Investigator, Detective, and most recently a School Resource Officer.
Fun fact – Bobby wrote Public Safety Director/Chief of Police Christopher Crawford his first traffic ticket when Director Crawford was a young driver.
“Officer Weigel is part of what makes Rockledge, Rockledge,” said Director Crawford.
“His dedication to one community for 42 years is almost unheard of. The Department and the city are better because of him. His ID# 199 will be honorably retired as recognition of his service. He will be missed – and I deserved that ticket.”
