BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The 2023 2S State Champion Cocoa Tigers will travel north on I-95 to visit the defending 3S State Champion Mainland Buccaneers in Daytona Beach this Friday in the Space Coast Daily Game of the Week, presented by Erdman Automotive.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
The Tigers (1-0) got a solid win last Friday after defeating the Titusville Terriers 42-10 in the season opener at Dick Blake Field in Cocoa.
Cocoa Tigers QB Brady Hart, a Michigan commit, had a near perfect game throwing for three touchdowns, no interceptions and boasting a 83-percent completion percentage (15-for-18) on the evening.
Equally impressive was the performance by his top wide receiver Jayvan Boggs, a UCF commit, who caught four passes for 111 yards and one touchdown.
The Buccaneers (0-1) were upset by University (Orange City, FL) 31-28 last Friday in a heartbreaker after Mainland had the lead at halftime 21-10.
Mainland fell after University QB Malachi Walters threw a touchdown pass to Jermane Hayes with 46 seconds left to lift the Titans to a wild 31-28 comeback victory over the Buccaneers.
