Melbourne Police detectives arrested Caleb Walker, pistol was recovered from a nearby rooftop

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police detectives arrested Caleb Walker on multiple charges after pulling out a “large Kalashnikov-style pistol” on officers near Lipscomb Street on Monday.
“As part of ongoing efforts to eliminate shootings in hot spot areas, detectives and officers attempted to stop Caleb Walker on Lipscomb Steet. Walker fled on foot as he pulled out a large Kalashnikov-style pistol from his waistband,” said Melbourne police officials.
“With the assistance of multiple supporting units, Detectives Bryce Poppel and Timothy Clifford took Walker into custody after a brief foot pursuit. The pistol, loaded with a high-capacity magazine, was recovered from a nearby rooftop, where the suspect attempted to discard it before being arrested.”
Walker’s charges include Violation of Probation, Resisting Officers, Tampering with Evidence, Unlawful Open Carry of a Firearm and Commission of Crime with a Firearm.
