BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – During the early morning hours, Deputy Justin Shannon was out on a leisurely patrol in a wooded area on Eau Gallie Boulevard when he came upon Matthew Korecky who quickly grabbed a piece of aluminum foil, along with a bag containing a green powdery substance, that he retrieved from a yellow box near his feet.

As soon as Deputy Shannon confronted Korecky, he tried to hide the items under his body, hoping Deputy Shannon hadn’t seen his actions.

Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t quick enough and Deputy Shannon detained Korecky and collected the unknown items.

As things progressed it didn’t take long before Deputy Shannon located not only the drugs he was trying to hide, but more drugs and a firearm that had been reported stolen out of Melbourne Police Department’s jurisdiction.

In total, Korecky had 17.4g of methamphetamine, 4 pills identified as muscle relaxers and approximately 8.3 grams of Fentanyl, which if put into a lethal dose would be enough to kill just over 4,000 people.

To top it all off, Korecky is a convicted felon and is unable to legally possess firearms, but clearly he doesn’t obey the law so I guess having a firearm when you’re a convicted felon is no big deal to him, especially when you have trafficking amounts of fentanyl in your possession as well.

The good news is that Korecky is now residing in the big house, also known as Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge, on No Bond as he was arrested for Trafficking in Fentanyl, Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Use/Display Firearm or Carry Conceal Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia!

Folks I’ll continue to say it, I don’t care who you are, or where you live, if you have this poison in your possession, we’re going to find you and get this crap off of our streets and you behind bars where you belong!
