BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — The Cocoa Police Department is recognizing Officer Kyle McNamara for an exceptional academic achievement after successfully completing one of law enforcement’s most demanding traffic crash investigation programs.

Officer McNamara recently graduated from the Advanced Collision Reconstruction Course, an intensive training program designed to equip officers with the scientific knowledge and technical skills needed to investigate serious and fatal traffic crashes.

The course teaches participants how to analyze crash scenes, examine physical evidence, calculate vehicle dynamics, and reconstruct collisions to determine precisely how and why they occurred.

According to the Cocoa Police Department, Officer McNamara distinguished himself throughout the program by earning the only perfect score on the course’s final examination.

His 100 percent score was the highest among all students enrolled in the class.

The department praised McNamara for representing the agency with professionalism and excellence while demonstrating a strong commitment to continuing education and public service.

Collision reconstruction plays a critical role in criminal and civil investigations following severe traffic crashes.

By using scientific methods and forensic analysis, specially trained officers can provide accurate findings that assist prosecutors, insurance investigators, crash victims, and the families of those killed or seriously injured in traffic incidents.

The work often provides answers about the sequence of events leading to a collision and helps determine whether traffic violations, impairment, excessive speed, or other contributing factors were involved.

Department officials said the advanced training strengthens the agency’s ability to conduct thorough, evidence-based crash investigations that withstand legal scrutiny and bring clarity to victims and their loved ones.

The Cocoa police officials congratulated Officer McNamara on his accomplishment, noting that his dedication to professional excellence reflects the department’s commitment to providing the highest level of service to the Cocoa community.
