BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police Department Deputy Chief Kristopher Kuehn recently graduated from the 292nd session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Kuehn was among veteran law enforcement officials who attended the 11-week program focused on advanced communication, leadership, ethics, behavioral science, intelligence analysis, critical incident management, officer wellness, and advanced fitness training.

‘This prestigious achievement reflects exceptional dedication and leadership,” said a Cocoa Beach Police official.

The class included attendees from 48 states, the District of Columbia and Guam, members of law enforcement agencies from 27 countries, eight military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations.

The FBI National Academy is internationally known for its academic excellence, and participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend.

“On average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions,” said an FBI official.

FBI Academy instructors, special agents, and other advanced-level staff provide the training, with many instructors recognized internationally in their fields.

Since 1972, FBI National Academy students have earned undergraduate and graduate credits from the University of Virginia, which accredits all the National Academy courses offered.

More than 55,000 graduates have completed the FBI National Academy since it began in 1935.
