BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County residents should prepare for a significant weather shift today, Sunday, February 16.

The National Weather Service in Melbourne forecasts mostly sunny skies with a high near 86°F. South winds are expected around 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.

A strong cold front is approaching, bringing gusty southwest winds between 15-25 mph and potential gusts up to 30-45 mph.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for areas from Orange County northward until 4 p.m.

This front may also bring a line of showers and isolated storms in the afternoon. It will arrive in northern counties around 1-3 p.m. and weaken as it moves southward through east-central Florida into the evening.

There’s a 20% chance of showers before 1 a.m. Sunday night, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of around 60°F. Winds will shift to the north-northwest after midnight.

Looking ahead, Monday (Washington’s Birthday) will be mostly sunny with a high near 70°F, accompanied by north winds around 15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.

Tuesday brings partly sunny skies and a high near 75°F, with east winds at 5 to 10 mph. Wednesday presents a 50% chance of showers, mainly after 1 p.m., with mostly cloudy conditions and a high near 80°F.
