Brevard County Man Arrested for Possession of Cocaine, Driving Over 90 MPH on SR-528 Near Port Canaveral

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I guess Jeffrey Lugo Clavell decided to live by the motto of “go big or go home” except he forgot when you are talking about breaking the law in Brevard County you don’t go home, you go to Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge.
Ole Jeffrey’s troubles started in the early morning hours when Deputy Lucas Hitchcock was running radar on 528 near Port Canaveral and clocked a Mercedes going 90 miles per hour…which is just a few over the speed limit, right? Of course not, it’s a lot over the speed limit and more than enough to get you stopped in Brevard County.
As Deputy Hitchcock asked him for his license, the driver, Jeffrey Lugo Clavell, handed him his Florida ID card and said he doesn’t know why his license was suspended which is exactly the same as saying “I know I shouldn’t be driving but I’m doing it anyways!”
Deputy Hitchcock and other units that had arrived on scene, subsequently conducted a search of the vehicle and located a backpack containing a digital scale with cocaine residue and suspected cannabis, and under the driver seat was a cigarette pack that contained 0.95 grams of cocaine.
I guess Lugo Clavell thought that if he was going to commit one crime he just might as well do several so at least he would look tough when took the ride to Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge.
He ultimately was booked for Driving While License Suspended With Knowledge, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was held on a bond of $3,500.
Another great job by our Deputies for getting him safely off our streets where he was driving crazy and behind bars where he can find out that there are consequences for his actions.
