BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA — The South Brevard Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is set to hold its first regular meeting on Tuesday, July 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the P.O.W./M.I.A. Park, located at 5995 North U.S. Highway 1 in Melbourne.
Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in this open public session.
The advisory board is designed to serve as a liaison between the public and county government, offering guidance and feedback on park operations, programming, and development throughout South Brevard. This first meeting is expected to outline key priorities, introduce board members, and set the stage for future initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality and accessibility of local recreational spaces.
Public input is not only welcomed but encouraged, as the board seeks to reflect the diverse needs and interests of the South Brevard community. From playground upgrades to event planning and facility improvements, the advisory board’s discussions could shape the future of how residents enjoy public spaces across the region.
Attendees should also be aware that any individual who intends to appeal a decision made by the board must ensure a verbatim record of the proceedings is made. This includes all testimony and evidence presented and must be obtained at the individual’s own expense.
The July 8 meeting presents a fresh opportunity for South Brevard residents to engage with their local government and play an active role in preserving and improving public recreational resources.
