BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Hey everyone! Nikki McCoy Freeman here, checking in from the sunny shores of Cocoa Beach.
Whether you’re paddling out or just posting up in the sand, I’ve got your weekend forecast — and a fun local trivia question that could win you a brand new Yeti cup. So stick around — let’s dive in!
Friday
Sunshine, salty air, and that weekend feeling rolling in hot! Temps are cruising near 86°, with just a slight chance of an afternoon sprinkle to cool things off. The surf’s a chill shin to knee-high — soft-top heaven.
Pro tip: Grab a longboard, throw on your shades, and soak up that post-work surf sesh.
Saturday
It’s looking like a perfect flip-flop day — 85°, partly sunny, and just enough breeze to keep your beach hair in check. Afternoon storms might try to crash the party, but mornings are chef’s kiss. Surf’s still snack-sized at ankle to knee-high, perfect for cruisy rides and beginner stoke.
Perfect day to paddle, tan, nap, repeat.
Sunday
Waking up to warm vibes and beach brunch energy! Expect highs around 87°, with the chance of an afternoon storm — but the early hours are your best bet for sun and sand.
The surf stays playful, but if you’re chasing a little more size, take a quick drive south toward Melbourne Beach for some waist-high fun.
Now, before you grab your towel and head out — here’s your chance to win a Yeti cup!
Did You Know? Cocoa Beach Trivia Time: Did you know that Cocoa Beach was originally called Oceanus?
It’s true! Before officially becoming Cocoa Beach in 1925, our little surf town was known as Oceanus. The name changed when the town was incorporated, but it’s still a fun slice of Space Coast history.
