Man on Scooter Dies After Crash at Sarno Road and Apollo Boulevard Intersection in Melbourne

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police officers responded to a traffic crash Monday at the intersection of Sarno Road and Apollo Boulevard that involved a 2004 Toyota passenger vehicle and a motorized scooter.
Upon arrival, officers located the scooter driver on the ground with serious injuries. Life-saving measures were initiated, and the man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
According to Melbourne Police, the driver on the scooter has been identified Neil Allen Goodwin, 74, of Melbourne.
According to the preliminary investigation, the motorized scooter was traveling north on Apollo Boulevard and attempted to turn left onto Sarno Road.
At the same time, the Toyota was traveling south on Apollo and began a right turn onto Sarno Road, striking the scooter during the maneuver.
The Toyota then continued west on Sarno for a short distance before coming to a controlled stop.
Melbourne Police say driver of the Toyota is identified Pamela Mary Court, 88, of Indian Harbor Beach.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
