Melbourne Police Officer Makes Significant Drug Arrest During Traffic Stop at Front Street and Melbourne Avenue

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Melbourne Police Department Field Training Officer Dialhas made a major drug bust during a routine traffic stop on Thursday near the intersection of Front Street and Melbourne Avenue.
According to a Melbourne police spokesperson, Manuel Enrique Lopez Calero was arrested and now faces charges of Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams and Possession with Intent to Sell.
During the traffic stop, Officer Dial conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered more than 16 pounds of marijuana along with a quantity of cash.
Police officials praised the decisive actions of Officer Dial, noting that his vigilance during the stop prevented a large amount of illegal drugs from reaching the community.
The case remains under investigation.
