BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Westside Elementary School in Palm Bay celebrated a significant milestone on Thursday morning with a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of its highly anticipated campus expansion.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. at 2175 Degroodt Road SW in Palm Bay.

The expansion represents a significant investment in the future of Westside students and the broader school community.

Plans include adding 10 new state-of-the-art classrooms, a fully upgraded STEM lab, a dedicated Exceptional Student Education Resource Room, and a new professional learning space designed to support ongoing staff development.

Principal Stephanie Woodbury will join district leaders to share remarks on the project’s importance and how it will enhance both student learning and teacher collaboration.

“The expansion underscores the district’s commitment to creating modern, inclusive, and innovative learning environments that foster academic excellence and personal growth for every student,” said a BPS spokesperson.
