Palm Bay Fire Rescue Saves Dog, Extinguishes Fire Without Any Injuries

Palm Bay Fire Rescue crews responded to reports of smoke coming from a home in Northwest Palm Bay on Thursday.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Fire Rescue crews responded to reports of smoke coming from a home in Northwest Palm Bay on Thursday.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke showing from the residence, confirming a working structure fire.

It was reported that a dog was still inside the home. The residence was otherwise unoccupied.

Crews initiated an aggressive interior attack, quickly located the seat of the fire, and successfully rescued the dog.

This morning, Palm Bay Fire Rescue crews responded to reports of smoke coming from a home in Northwest Palm Bay.

Firefighters immediately began on-scene care while awaiting Animal Services.

After receiving oxygen, cooling measures, and plenty of love and reassurance, the pup appeared to be in good condition.

The fire was quickly knocked down and contained to one room, preventing further damage. Red Cross services were activated to assist the homeowners.

There were no reported firefighter injuries. The fire appears to be accidental in nature.
