BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – City officials in Satellite Beach are moving forward with the next phase of a citywide road resurfacing initiative after City Council approved the project on January 7, 2026.

The upcoming phase includes milling, paving and curb replacements in select areas and will impact 27 roadways throughout the City.

Officials say the improvements are part of an ongoing effort to enhance roadway conditions, improve safety and extend the lifespan of neighborhood streets.

Paving Schedule for Winchester Drive and Carriage Road

Work will begin February 25 and is expected to continue through approximately March 6, 2026, on the following roadways:

– Winchester Drive — from Kale Street to 470 Winchester Drive

– Carriage Road — from Kale Street to Winchester Drive

During construction, residents are asked to avoid parking vehicles on the roadway and to keep sprinkler systems turned off during daytime hours until paving is complete.

Homes will remain accessible throughout the milling process, and only brief delays are anticipated.

Prior to paving, crews will apply a “tacking” procedure, which helps new asphalt properly bond to the existing roadway surface. City officials strongly urge residents not to drive on the roadway after tack has been applied unless absolutely necessary. The material can be tracked onto vehicles by tire spray and may be difficult to remove.

Once paving is completed, the roadway is typically ready for traffic within about one hour.
