Palm Bay Police: Woman Found Dead After SWAT Response to Armed Disturbance Near Jupiter Boulevard

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – A 54-year-old woman was found dead Monday evening following a SWAT response to an armed disturbance in Palm Bay, according to police.
Officers with the Palm Bay Police Department were dispatched to the area of Jupiter Boulevard and Serenade Street around 4 p.m. on March 23 after receiving reports of a shooting incident.
Authorities said the woman, identified as the suspected shooter, discharged a firearm at the residence, toward occupants and in the direction of responding officers. Multiple police units, along with a fire truck and SWAT vehicles, responded to the scene.
SWAT officers entered the home at approximately 7:19 p.m., where the woman was discovered dead inside.
Police said it remains unclear whether her injuries were self-inflicted or the result of an exchange of gunfire.
No other individuals were inside the residence at the time, according to Palm Bay Police Chief Mariano Augello.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has taken over the investigation and will determine the cause of death.
