BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Melbourne Municipal Band’s saxiest of ensembles, the Adagio Sax Quartet, will take the audience on a “Saxy Spring” romp at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 19, at Harbor City Baptist Church, at 2711 N. Harbor City Blvd. in Melbourne.

From the beautiful “Cinema Paradiso” to Handel’s impressive “Arrival of the Queen of Sheba” – plus plenty of other great music in between –the ensemble will showcase music that gets the blood pumping.

The freewill donation concert also features the world premiere of “As It Is,” Pat Metheny’s piece, arranged by MMB soprano sax player Mark Pisczek.

Now in its 61st season, the Melbourne Municipal Band provides free, high-quality concerts to the community and nurtures the next generation of musicians through youth education and performance initiatives.

Founded in 1965, the MMB is an integral part of the Space Coast cultural community, serving more than 21,000 attendees each year through concerts, dances, and other ensemble performances.

The band’s 80-plus members and auxiliary volunteers spend 30,000 hours of their time each year on rehearsals and performances.
