Eastern Florida State College to Present Spring Choral Concert April 27 on the Cocoa Campus

The Spring Choral Concert is part of EFSC’s ongoing commitment to showcasing student musicians and providing the community with access to high-quality live performances.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Eastern Florida State College will present its annual Spring Choral Concert on Monday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Simpkins Fine Arts Auditorium on the Cocoa Campus, highlighting a diverse program of classical and contemporary choral works.

The event will take place at the Simpkins Fine Arts Auditorium (Building 4) on EFSC’s Cocoa Campus, located at 1519 Clearlake Road.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at efsc.booktix.com or at the door on the day of the performance.

The performance will feature the EFSC Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Robert E. Lamb, and the EFSC Madrigal Ensemble, conducted by Justin Walker.

Both ensembles will be accompanied by collaborative pianist Jean Black.

Audiences can expect a wide-ranging musical program spanning centuries of choral tradition.

Selections include Renaissance composer Thomas Weelkes’ “When David Heard,” Romantic-era composer Johannes Brahms’ “Vineta,” and contemporary composer André J. Thomas’ “Walk the Streets of Gold.”

A highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of “Eldorado,” a newly composed work by Walker that adds a modern and original element to the concert lineup.

Tickets are available for purchase in advance online or at the door on the day of the performance.
