BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA VILLAGE, FLORIDA – Members of the Stars of Tomorrow program at the Cocoa Village Playhouse have been selected to participate in the inaugural Florida Musical Theatre Intensive at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
Current students Will Kalarovich and Rosemary Carff were among only 60 selected for the prestigious program.
During the intensive, participants will mount a full production of West Side Story, learning and rehearsing the show in just five days, before completing a three-day technical process.
In addition to rehearsals, students will work alongside industry professionals from across the state, including director Tony Ramirez-Mata.
The program also includes master classes and educational sessions focused on the business side of theatre, offering participants a well-rounded, real-world perspective of the performing arts industry.
The celebration also extends to Stars of Tomorrow alumnus and mainstage performer Connor DeRoche, who has been selected to join the intensive as a Resident Artist Intern.
In this role, DeRoche will serve as an educator in student workshops, assistant direct West Side Story, and perform as Gabe in Next to Normal.
Program organizers at the Cocoa Village Playhouse say they are proud of Will, Rosemary, and Connor for their achievements and look forward to seeing their continued success as they gain valuable experience in this immersive theatrical program.
