BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police announced on Thursday that a fatal crash involving a pedestrian happened at the intersection of N. Harbor City Boulevard (US-1) and Parkway Drive.
According to Lt. Brian Hart of the Melbourne Police Department, the incident occurred at 11:40 a.m. ET when a vehicle struck a woman at the intersection.
The pedestrian was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment.
Despite lifesaving efforts by first responders and hospital staff, the pedestrian later died from her injuries.
The pedestrian has been identified as 65-year-old Patricia A. Baker from Melbourne.
The driver of the vehicle is identified as Ishanna D. Hall, 47, from Melbourne.
Due to the investigation, the intersection remained closed for an extended period of time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
