MIAMI, FLORIDA — Jude Bellingham delivered when England needed him most, scoring twice — including the decisive goal in extra time — to lift the Three Lions to a dramatic 2-1 victory over Norway on Saturday and secure a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup semifinals.
Norway, appearing in its first World Cup in more than two decades, pushed England to the limit before Bellingham’s heroics ended the Scandinavian nation’s memorable tournament run.

England responded just before halftime when Bellingham powered home an equalizer in second-half stoppage time (45+2′), sending the teams into the break deadlocked at 1-1.
The second half featured end-to-end action and several controversial moments. Norway thought it had reclaimed the lead early after Leo Østigård Heggem found the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed after VAR determined Erling Haaland had committed a foul during the buildup.
England later believed it had earned a penalty that could have sealed the match in regulation, only for VAR to overturn the decision.
With neither side able to find a winner after 90 minutes, the match headed to extra time.
