WATCH: Hundreds Celebrate Independence Day at Annual July 4 Parade on Merritt Island

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Patriotic spirit filled Merritt Island on Friday as the annual July 4 Parade, hosted by Sheriff Wayne Ivey, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Charity, made its way through the community.
“What an incredible turnout this morning at the annual Independence Day Parade in Merritt Island celebrating our Nation’s 250th Birthday,” said Sheriff Ivey.
“Thank you to everyone who participated, the community members who lined the streets to watch and to all of the members of our agency for making this another memorable year.”
The parade began at 10 a.m. at Merritt Island High School and traveled to Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School, drawing families, veterans and community members who lined the route to celebrate Independence Day.
Following the parade, festivities continued at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center amphitheater, where attendees enjoyed additional July 4 activities as part of the holiday celebration.
