Elizabeth “Betty” Hollowell, 86, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. A gifted student, Betty graduated as Valedictorian of the Titusville High School Class of 1957.
BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA — Elizabeth “Betty” Hollowell, 86, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Born on February 3, 1940, in Atkinson, Georgia, Betty was the daughter of David and Sophia Page.
Her family moved to Florida when she was very young, and she was raised largely under the loving guidance of her grandmother, Frances Hilton, who played a significant role in her upbringing.
A gifted student, Betty graduated as Valedictorian of the Titusville High School Class of 1957.
While still in high school, she began working at the Brevard County Clerk of Courts office, launching a distinguished career in the legal profession that would span decades.
Throughout her career, Betty worked for Freed and Klein Attorneys-at-Law, Ken Moran, and ultimately the Broome Law Firm, where she dedicated 27 years of service before retiring.
Following retirement, she and her husband, Walter, enjoyed spending summers traveling through North Carolina in their motorhome.
Betty was known for her warm heart, outgoing personality, and remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. She never met a stranger and genuinely enjoyed getting to know people.
Her inquisitive nature was so well known that her physician jokingly limited her to asking no more than 40 questions during each office visit.
Her friendly spirit also led to the love of her life. Betty first met Walter Hollowell at a local Titusville diner they both frequented. Never one to hesitate, she stopped him in the doorway to ask if he was Walter Hollowell.
That chance introduction blossomed into a lifelong love story. The couple married on September 2, 1961, at First Methodist Church of Titusville and shared 65 wonderful years together while raising two sons.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, David and Sophia Page, and her beloved grandmother, Frances Hilton.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Walter Hollowell; her sons, Wade (Heidi Bolskar) Hollowell and Glen (Jennifer) Hollowell; her grandchildren, Andrew Hollowell, Cassandra (Travis) Kirk, and Amelia Hollowell; and her great-grandchildren, Travis, Michael, and Evie.
A memorial service celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Indian River Church in Titusville.
Betty will be remembered for her kindness, infectious personality, unwavering devotion to her family, and the countless friendships she formed throughout her life.
Her legacy of warmth, compassion, and genuine love for others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
