BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach community is mourning the loss of Robert Edward “Bob” Lehton, who passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the age of 77.
A man of unwavering faith, service, and compassion, Bob leaves behind a legacy that touched countless lives throughout Brevard County and beyond.
Bob was a devoted teacher and counselor of the Scriptures whose greatest joy was helping others deepen their relationship with Jesus through the study of God’s Word.
A lifelong student of the Bible, he inspired many through his wisdom, encouragement, and steadfast faith.Professionally, Bob dedicated his career to serving others as a clinical psychologist, providing compassionate care and guidance to those facing life’s challenges.
Outside of his practice, he embraced adventure as an accomplished surfer, sailor, and pilot, finding peace both on the water and in the skies.
A devoted Torah student, Bob faithfully served on the board of Seed of Abraham Fellowship in Merritt Island, where he was an active member of the congregation and a trusted spiritual leader.
Driven by a lifelong commitment to helping others, Bob founded Servant Air Ministries and Crosswinds Youth Services, organizations that have provided hope, guidance, and support to countless individuals and families throughout the community.
He believed that a life of service was life’s greatest calling, a principle he demonstrated daily through volunteer work, coaching his children’s baseball teams, mentoring young people, and always making time for those in need.
Above all, Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He led by example, showing his family and everyone around him the importance of generosity, integrity, faith, and selfless service. His influence extended far beyond his own family, leaving an enduring impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Bob was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Amy Gellert, and his sister, Jeni Bridwell.He is survived by his beloved wife, Bunny Lehton; his sons, Jason Lehton, Mark Gellert, and Ryan Gellert, along with their spouses; five cherished grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Bill Bridwell; his niece, Amy Bridwell and her husband; and countless friends, colleagues, and members of the community whose lives were enriched by his kindness and leadership.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Seed of Abraham Fellowship, 6355 N. Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, Florida 32953.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Amy’s Fund at Crosswinds Youth Services, continuing Bob’s lifelong mission of serving and uplifting others.
Bob’s legacy of faith, service, and compassion will continue to inspire future generations, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
