BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer team opened the home season with a shutout on Friday night.
The Titans improved to 3-0 despite a two-hour weather delay in the middle of the first half, defeating Millenia Atlantic University 7-0 at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.
Nine minutes into the contest, Jeremy Obah scored his first goal of the season to give the Titans a 1-0 lead.
Alvin Ssekamate chipped the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 with 22:05 remaining.
After the delay of just over two hours, Rodrigo Polydoro made it 3-0 with 10:26 left in the first half.
Because of the weather, halftime was a short break before the teams returned to the field. And last week’s FCSAA Player of the Week, Rio Narita, scored with 30 minutes left in the contest.
Ssekamate would find the back of the net for the second time with 27:36 remaining, while Henry Crosthwaite scored his first of the season.
Fidel Gil rounded out the scoring for Eastern Florida State College.
The Titans will hit the road next week, heading to Texas to play Angelina College on Thursday night and then Dallas College Richland on Saturday evening.
