Edwin Guerro sent antisemitic violent threats to Fine, saying 'Jews are a stain to the world'

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – U.S. Homeland Security Department and Massachusetts State Police arrested Edwin Guerro at Boston Logan International Airport for sending antisemitic violent threats to Florida State Rep. Randy Fine of Brevard County over social media.
Fine is running for Brevard’s Senate District 19, and currently represents House District 33, which includes Malabar, West Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Melbourne and Palm Bay.
Guerro was arrested and charged with eight felonies for making a series of death threats against Fine. and faces a maximum of 175 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
“Muslim Terror is real and it exists in Florida,” said Fine. “I am incredibly grateful to the agents of FDLE who worked around the clock to identify – and then arrest – this terrorist.”
Guerro is charged with five first degree felonies for “written or electronic threats to kill while evidencing prejudice,” one second degree felony for “unlawful use of a two-way communication device while evidencing prejudice,” one third degree felony for “publications which tend to expose persons to hatred while evidencing prejudice,” and one third degree felony for “threats of harassment while evidencing prejudice.”
Three days after sending the threats from a foreign country, Guerro was taken into custody by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Massachusetts State Police, and the FDLE while attempting to enter the United States.
Guerro is being held without bond in Massachusetts while awaiting extradition to Florida.
“As an outspoken and unafraid Jewish Republican legislator, Nazis and Muslim terrorists make dozens, if not hundreds of hateful statements towards me every day,” said Fine.
“Most I take as a badge of honor, but this one was different. The threat was specific, it was imminent, and it was made shortly after a Brevard County Judge irresponsibly posted my home address on the internet. Within moments of contacting the Florida Sergeant-at-Arms and FDLE, I had 24-7 security at my home, and I am and will be forever grateful for it. Florida is not New York or Washington, where no one ever seems to be held responsible attacking Jews. Let Guerro’s arrest make one thing clear – in Florida, if you ‘f’ around, you’re going to find out.”
Fine is the only Jewish Republican legislator in the State of Florida and the primary architect of the most aggressive antisemitism legislative agenda in the United States.
Over seven years, he has sponsored legislation creating the first-ever program to provide security funding for Jewish Day Schools, passed a zero-tolerance policy for antisemitic BDS programs by state and local governments, redesigned mandatory Holocaust education for all Florida Students, required antisemitism to be treated as racism on in all Florida public schools and universities, and criminalized the harassment and targeting of Jews via littering and graffiti.
In his final term in the Florida House, he serves as the Chairman of the House Health and Human Services Committee, and has passed more than two-dozen bills on a variety of other issues in education, environmental protection, and economic development.
