Florida House Speaker-designate Perez Announces Leadership Team for 2024-26 Term

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — Florida House Speaker-designate Daniel Perez announced Merritt Island’s Representative Tyler Sirois as House Majority Leader and Security & Threat Assessment Committee Chair for 2024-26 Term.

Sirois represents House District 31, which includes Merritt Island in Brevard County and recently re-elected to his fourth consecutive term.

The Majority Leader is tasked with ensuring every Member of the Republican Conference has the tools and information needed to drive a strong conservative agenda.

The Security & Threat Assessment Committee will provide a platform for Members to be briefed on law enforcement threats to the state, cybersecurity breaches of state agencies and specific issues related to security in the Capitol.

“It is the utmost privilege to be selected to lead a group of my peers, championing the conservative values we all hold dear for the good of our state,” said Sirois.

“Together, we will build on our principles, solve real problems for Floridians, and ensure Florida is the best place to work, learn, and raise a family. I am particularly honored that the Speaker-designate has created the Security & Threat Assessment Committee, a forum to bring other Members into the conversation about the dangers facing the state of Florida.”

Sirois, 40, won big on Tuesday with 63.7% of the vote over Democratic candidate Joanne Terry.
