Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect for Portions of Brevard County Until 6:15 PM EDT

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service has issued an updated Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Brevard, Indian River, and Osceola counties, in effect until 6:15 p.m. EDT.
At 5:30 p.m., radar indicated a line of strong to severe thunderstorms moving through the region, capable of producing damaging wind gusts of up to 60 mph, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall. The storm system is moving eastward at approximately 30 miles per hour.
Residents in the affected areas are urged to seek shelter indoors immediately and avoid windows.
Flying debris, tree damage, and localized power outages are possible with this storm. Motorists should exercise caution and avoid driving through flooded roadways.
This warning covers central and southern portions of Brevard County, including Palm Bay and Melbourne, northern Indian River County including Vero Beach, and sections of western Osceola County.
