BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Fire Rescue has enhanced its emergency response capabilities with the addition of four new trucks to its fleet.
The department unveiled one 2,200-gallon water tender and three brush trucks, which can also be converted into high-water and flood rescue vehicles.
Built by Acela Truck Company, the new units were purchased using impact fees with the approval and support of City Management and the Palm Bay City Council.
Each apparatus is designed to improve response efforts during wildfires, storm recovery operations, and flooding events throughout the community. The investment aims to ensure the department is prepared to protect residents during a wide range of emergencies.
To give the public a first look at the new equipment, Palm Bay Fire Rescue will host a Touch a Truck event on Thursday, October 16, at 5 p.m. at City Hall on Malabar Road SE, just before the Regular City Council Meeting.
Families are encouraged to attend, meet firefighters, and explore the newly acquired vehicles up close.
City leadership emphasized that the purchase reflects a continued commitment to providing Palm Bay Fire Rescue with the resources necessary to safeguard the community and maintain a high level of public safety.
