BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — After 11 years of dedicated service to the City of Palm Bay, Firefighter Paramedic Kaylin Mitchell is retiring from Palm Bay Fire Rescue.

Palm Bay officials said throughout her career, Mitchell has exemplified what it means to serve with professionalism, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

By responding to emergencies in the field or mentoring future EMS professionals as an instructor at Eastern Florida State College, her impact has been deeply felt across the department and community.

Mitchell is now taking the next bold step in her journey as she is leaving the fire service to pursue her dream of becoming a physician. She will begin medical school this fall, continuing her mission to care for others on an even broader scale.

“Kaylin, thank you for everything you’ve given to Palm Bay Fire Rescue and the countless lives you’ve touched along the way,” said a City of Palm Bay spokesperson. “We wish you nothing but success and fulfillment in this exciting new chapter.”

The mission of Palm Bay Fire Rescue is to save lives and save property through emergency medical service, fire and rescue response, and community risk reduction. Palm Bay Fire Rescue responds immediately when any member of the community needs help with professional, effective, and compassionate service.
