BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Brevard Public Schools to launch the Brevard County School Bus Safety Program.

Through this program, they’re using stop-arm camera technology to protect our children from dangerous drivers who don’t stop for the bus, thereby putting our children’s lives at risk.

In Brevard County, there are no compromises when it comes to protecting our children. Every day, thousands of students rely on school buses to get to and from school safely.

And every day, reckless drivers who aren’t paying attention or, even worse, don’t think the law applies to them, put Brevard’s children at risk by illegally passing the school bus.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Brevard Public Schools to launch the Brevard County School Bus Safety Program.  Through this program, they’re using stop-arm camera technology to protect our children from dangerous drivers who don’t stop for the bus and, in doing so, put our children’s lives at risk.

As part of BCSO’s effort to keep everyone safe, we are asking our citizens to take a few minutes and fully educate themselves on Florida’s School Bus Laws and the Brevard County School Bus Safety Program.

To avoid receiving a ticket for passing a stopped school bus and to help protect our children, please review the materials provided and remember, “Just Stop…it’s the law.” Said Sheriff Wayne Ivey.
