BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Titusville Fire Department, in partnership with Health First, conducted a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) training exercise today at Chain of Lakes Park.
The exercise, which is scheduled to run through approximately 12:00 p.m., is designed to simulate a large-scale emergency response and enhance coordination among first responders and medical personnel.
Residents in the area may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and personnel, along with a staged scenario involving a school bus and an overturned vehicle.
The training also includes operations from the Health First First Flight helicopter, with landings taking place at the park.
Officials emphasize that this is only a training exercise and there is no actual emergency.
The drill is part of ongoing efforts to ensure first responders are fully prepared to handle complex emergency situations, including incidents involving multiple victims.
Authorities are asking the public to use caution and avoid the immediate area while the exercise is underway to allow crews to safely and effectively complete the training.
