BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — Nearly 20 middle- and high-school students from the Boys & Girls Club of Cocoa got an up-close look at career opportunities in the maritime industry during a special Workforce Wednesdays tour of Port Canaveral.
The educational program introduced students to the diverse professions that help keep one of the world’s busiest cruise and cargo ports operating every day.
Throughout the tour, students visited several key facilities and organizations, including Canaveral Fire Rescue City/Port, Blue Origin’s Jacklyn Landing Platform Vessel, the U.S. Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral, and Enstructure Canaveral. They also enjoyed a harbor tour courtesy of the Canaveral Pilots Association, providing a firsthand look at the Port’s operations from the water.
