Palm Bay Police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said at about 4 p.m. a black male entered the Subway restaurant at 3450 Bayside Lakes Boulevard and threatened an employee with a handgun while demanding cash from the register.

Martinez said the employee, who was the only person in the store at the time, complied and the robber  fled on foot.

“The employee was not injured,” Martinez said.

Palm Bay Police patrol units and a K-9 search of the area did not yield any results.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30’s, 5-foot-5 with a small build.

He was wearing an orange shirt and brown hat and was carrying a gray colored Wal-Mart plastic bag.

The suspect left the restaurant heading west on Bayside Lakes Boulevard.

Crime scene technicians are reviewing store surveillance video in hopes of obtaining images that can assist detectives in identifying the suspect.

Martinez said anyone with information about this crime is asked to call CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
