BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – From the late 50’s through the 70’s, several restaurants on the Space Coast were known as the popular eateries for astronauts as well as the movers and shakers of Brevard County.

In Cocoa Beach, Ramon’s Restaurant was famous for Prime Ribs of Beef and a unique Caesar Salad. The entrance was filled with space memorabilia and astronauts frequented the establishment regularly. Ramon’s featurd three dining rooms and two  cocktail lounges.

FINE DINING AT THE SURF

Another popular Cocoa Beach lounge was Bernard’s Surf. Also known as “The Surf”, the establishment was located in the heart of downtown Cocoa Beach.

For several decades, Bernard’s cocktail lounge and dining room were a favorite stop for tourists and locals, alike.

In June of 2012, a British entrepreneur acquired the signature Cocoa Beach restaurant property Bernard’s Surf.

Multi-millionaire British businessman Luke Johnson pledged to restore Bernard’s Surf to its glory days, but the restaurant never fully recovered from  its fall from grace after several decades as a highly popular dining venue.
