Michael Maxwell Charged With First Degree Murder

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA –  Michael Maxwell, 20, has been charged with first degree premeditated murder with a firearm in connection with the death of James Thomas Wynn in the early morning hours of Nov. 24, 2013.

Wynn was murdered in the 1000 block of Hollister Drive, in West Melbourne, Florida.

Detectives from the West Melbourne Police Department have been investigating the case since November and secured an arrest warrant yesterday charging Maxwell with first degree premeditated murder with a firearm.

Michael Maxwell, of Palm Bay, was taken into custody on Nov. 27 and has been in jail for violating his bond release conditions on another case. West Melbourne detectives said they have been working closely with the State Attorney’s office and will continue to do so.
