Sheriff Investigates Skeletal Remains On Merritt Island

 The Brevard County Sheriff's Office responded to Waterway Park, located at 600 West Merritt Island Causeway on Merritt Island on Saturday morning after a passerby located what appears to be skeletal remains.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office responded to Waterway Park, located at 600 West Merritt Island Causeway on Merritt Island, on Saturday morning after a passerby located what appears to be skeletal remains.

The remains were located in a shallow area of water of the Indian River, according to Cpl. Dave Jacobs, BCSO Public Information Officer and Media Relations Liaison.

Homicide Agents responded along with the Medical Examiners Office and members from the Crime Scene Unit and the Dive team.

The remains have been transported to the Medical Examiners office for examination and identification.
