BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Prep will host an Open House on Sept. 12 offering the families of prospective students a chance to experience the exciting environment of one of Florida’s premier day and boarding schools.
“Visitors will be greeted by our school administrators in the historic Hall of Flags where they will have the opportunites to meet some of our department-heads, including our Admissions Director, Dean of Students, and Principal,” said Jeanette Middleton, Public Relations Manager at Florida Prep.
“Afterwards, you will be given a tour of our academy accompanied by our students. Attendees will have a chance to see Florida Prep through a student’s perspective as well as have any questions answered by our Admissions Team.”
At the end of the Open House, the admissions team will be available to conduct student interviews.
The Open Houses will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude around 11:30 a.m.
On June 1 of this year, Florida Air Academy became Florida Preparatory Academy, or Florida Prep, a name that better defines the school and its purpose.
“Our mission is to prepare kids to be successful when they get to college, to be well prepared for future success, growth and leadership,” said President James Dwight.
“Our students get admitted into the best universities in the country. Our focus is the future.”
The school’s graduates have enjoyed 100 percent admission to colleges and universities since 1978.
Florida Prep is also a hometown school, with a third of its students from local communities.
Dwight expects that figure to grow as parents realize Florida Prep offers the only private secular secondary school experience in the Space Coast.
With a classroom size averaging 16 students, Florida Prep faculty can focus on each individual student’s needs.
