Woman Dies In Head-On Crash On State Road 407 Near I-95 Early Saturday Morning

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Keri De Mott, 20, of Orlando was killed on Saturday morning about 12:30 a.m. in a crash on State Road 407 (Challenger Memorial Parkway), about 1 mile west of I-95.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Keri De Mott, 20, of Orlando was killed on Saturday morning about 12:30 a.m. in a crash on State Road 407 (Challenger Memorial Parkway), about 1 mile west of I-95.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Keith Pumphrey, 22, of Melbourne was traveling eastbound on State Road 407, and De Mott was traveling westbound.

For an unknown reason Pumphrey drove left of center, traveling into the westbound lanes and into the direct path of De Mott’s 2001 Honda CRV. The front of Pumphrey’s 2004 Honda Pilot struck the front of De Mott’s vehicle head-on, according to FHP.

Pumphrey was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in serious condition and De Mott was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, according to FHP.
