An 81-year-old woman from Indian Harbour Beach was killed Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross State Road A1A at Eau Gallie Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — A 29-year-old motorcyclist from Vero Beach was killed late Sunday night after a crash along Interstate 95 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 11:52 p.m. near mile marker 176 on southbound I-95, authorities said.

Investigators reported that the rider was operating a 2005 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle when, for reasons still under investigation, he veered off the roadway to the left and collided with a light pole.

A witness at the scene told troopers the motorcycle abruptly left the travel lanes before the impact.

Emergency responders transported the rider to Palm Bay Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Officials confirmed that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending confirmation and notification of family members, which has been completed, according to investigators.

The crash is being investigated by FHP Troopers.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
