Man Killed In Deadly Overnight Shooting In Merritt Island, BCSO Investigating

The Cocoa police reported that John Charles McLean, 53, of Merritt Island, Florida, was discovered on Friday at approximately 7:49 p.m., unresponsive inside a vehicle parked at 150 Minutemen Causeway in Cocoa Beach.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Office received reports of shots fired at around 10 p.m. in area of the Tropical Manor Apartments in Merritt Island Sunday night, according to authorities.

When officers arrived at 1165 Jordan Road, they located a man that had been shot where he later died as result of his injuries at the hospital, according to Cpl. Dave Jacobs of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim’s identity will be released at a later time.
