BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – In one of the final games before a planned break, the Palm Bay West Rays traveled up Minton Road to take on the West Melbourne Reds in a Juniors division matchup at Rodes Park.
This game could foreshadow the District 2 county tournament next month as both teams rely on powerful offensive attacks and are led by strong pitching and defense.
This was the final Juniors division contest before all District 2 leagues took 10 days off for a scheduled recess coinciding with the Brevard Public Schools spring break period.
Squads competing for the Juniors division regular-season championship include four teams from Eau Gallie Little League (Uncle Scrappy Sports Design, Blue Sky Painting, Scott Ellis and Gator Lawncare), two teams from South Beaches Little League (Twins1 and Twins2), four Palm Bay West Little League teams (Rays, Yankees, Phillies and Cardinals), three teams from the Greater West Melbourne Little League (Mets, Reds and Royals) and the Space Coast Little League Yankees.
