COPS BUST PURSE SNATCHERS

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Palm Bay residents Angela Marie Siewert and Michelle Yvonne Welling have been arrested by the West Melbourne Police Department for the “strong arm” purse snatching which occurred on Tuesday in the Wal-Mart parking lot located on Palm Bay Road in West Melbourne.
Siewert was arrested on an outstanding warrant last Tuesday after a traffic stop of a vehicle that was suspected of being used during the commission of the crime.
Both perps are charged with robbery by sudden snatching and Welling is also charged with aggravated battery.
The cops report says that at approximately 7:40 p.m. on April 24, 2012, a 53-year-old woman was loading her purchases in the back of her vehicle when a white van approached.
The van’s passenger grabbed the victim’s purse, dragging the victim over 150 feet across the parking lot. Fortunately, the victim was not seriously hurt.
West Melbourne Police spotted the vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description and stopped it.
