Crisafulli Backs Wayne Ivey In Sheriff’s Race

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff cndidate Wayne Ivey has received the endoresement of Florida District 32 Rep. Steve Crisafulli.

Republican candidate for sheriff Wayne Ivey has picked up the endorsement of State Rep. Steve Crisafulli.

Ivey is a former Resident Agent in Charge for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Crisafulli, a Republican first elected to the Florida House in 2008, said he supports Ivey for a number of reasons.

As a fourth generation resident of Brevard County, a community based businessman and a senior member of the Florida House of Representatives, I know first-hand how important having a strong sheriff, a person committed to facing Brevard’s difficult challenges, is to this community,” he said.

“I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with a number of outstanding law enforcement leaders, one of whom is Wayne Ivey.

“Wayne has been instrumental in the design of several very important programs, such as GAMEOVER, which are keeping our communities safe,” Crisafulli said.

He said Ivey’s leadership makes him a great choice for sheriff.

“When there is a significant or critical incident in Brevard, we look to Wayne for insight; he is truly a leader among leaders. His 30 plus years of law enforcement and leadership experience, coupled with his passion to assist, is essential to address today’s complex public safety challenges,” Crisafulli said.

“Wayne is a fiscal conservative who is very committed to the challenge of keeping Brevard safe.”

Crisafulli said Ivey has clearly demonstrated his expertise as both an advocate for crime victims as well as an innovative crusader.

His 30 plus years of law enforcement and leadership experience, coupled with his passion to assist, is essential to address today’s complex public safety challenges,” Crisafulli said.

“For these reasons, I am proud to endorse Wayne Ivey as our next Sheriff,” he said.

Ivey said he was humbled to have Crisafulli’s endorsement.

“I am honored to have received the endorsement of Representative Crisafulli who is a highly respected legislator that cares deeply about the citizens of Brevard County,” Ivey said.

“He and his family have been a significant part of Brevard’s agricultural and business community for decades. It has been a pleasure to work with Steve on several Public Safety efforts and I take tremendous pride in having earned his and his family’s support and endorsement.”

Ivey will face Republican candidates Gary Harrell and Larry “Todd” Maddox in the August primary for the nomination.

Democratic sheriff primary candidates are Adrian Maurice Moss Beasley and Mark Steven Orndoff.  Ernest Cathy is a non-affiliated candidate for sheriff.
