Cocoa Beach Stabbing Results In Orlando Man’s Arrest

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Police in Cocoa Beach have charged an Orlando man for his role in a weekend fight that resulted in a stabbing.

Cocoa Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Major Jay Harmon said Rocky Dewain May of Orlando, 25, was arrested for his involvement in a fight Sunday in which a Titusville man was stabbed.

Harmon said that at about 9:08 p.m. Sunday police were called to the parking lot of the Big Licks Lounge at 142 Minutemen Causeway in reference to a fight.

There they found Matthew Keane of Titusville suffering with a stab wound to the abdomen.

Keane was immediately transported to a Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne by the Health First Air Ambulance First Flight helicopter.

Officers located May a short distance away and obtained positive identification.

Following up on information provided by officers and witnesses, Cocoa Beach detectives were able to charge May with one count of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

He was arrested this morning and transported to the Brevard County Jail where he remains on a $20,000 bond.
