Lt . Jeff Taylor of Brevard County Fire Rescue said rescue crews responded to Tropical Manor Apartments at 1165 Jordan Road on Meritt Island at about 2:58 p.m. today.

Two co-workers of the injured man said that they were contractors performing pressure washing work at the apartment complex and that the man was standing near the edge of the roof, stepped back and fell 25 feet to the ground.

Paramedics issued a trauma alert and the patient was transported to the Trauma Center in Melbourne via the Health First Air Ambulance First Flight helicopter.

The man was admitted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Taylor said units at the scene of the accident included Brevard County Engine/Rescue 41, District Chief 40 and First Flight.
